The kinda weird but beautiful world of Spiritual things

You ever scroll through insta late night, and suddenly some random monk reel pop up saying something like “peace is inside you bro”? yeah, that’s how most people start their spiritual journey these days. not at a temple or under a banyan tree… but on Instagram explore page. funny right?

I won’t lie, I got pulled into it too once. not like I started meditating on mountains or something, but I did start reading about how people find “energy” in simple things — like walking barefoot or listening to rain. Honestly, it sounds kinda dramatic, but when you actually try it, you do feel… different. calmer maybe.

What even is this “spiritual” thing anyway

So, if you ask 10 people what spiritual means, you’ll get 15 answers. For some, it’s about connecting with God. For others, it’s more like connecting with yourself. and then there’s a bunch who just want to escape their office stress and find something peaceful that’s not Netflix.

I read somewhere (don’t ask me where, it was probably Twitter) that spirituality is just “understanding that there’s more to life than deadlines and notifications.” that kinda stuck with me. Maybe because most of us are running on autopilot these days.

If you’re curious and wanna explore more on that side, there’s this page spiritual that goes into these deep but kinda relatable topics. not those overly preachy vibes, but more like “hey, you’re human, it’s fine, here’s how you can breathe better through chaos.”

When I tried being spiritual (and failed a bit)

So, story time. I tried meditation once. lit a candle, sat cross-legged like I saw in a YouTube video, played that weird “ohm” sound… and 3 minutes later, I was thinking about biryani. yup. not exactly the Buddha moment I expected. but that’s kinda the point — it’s not about being perfect, it’s about trying.

Later I realised spirituality doesn’t have to look like the movies. You don’t need white robes, mountains, or fancy chants. Sometimes it’s just about sitting quiet for 5 mins and not checking your phone. or maybe forgiving someone you’ve been mad at.

The internet made it both better and worse

It’s kinda wild how spirituality went viral. like, there’s literally “healing crystal influencers” now. some of it’s cool — it helps people talk about emotions and energy in a new way. but some of it… let’s just say, looks like MLM for vibes. still, better than doomscrolling politics all day.

Also, memes about retrogrades are lowkey educational now. “Mercury is in retrograde” has become the excuse for everything — from missed deadlines to breakups. People half-believe it, half-make fun of it, and honestly, that’s the sweet spot.

Why it kinda matters now more than ever

The world’s loud, man. phones buzz 24/7, news is chaos, jobs are stressful. In between all this, spirituality feels like pressing pause. like, even if you don’t believe in chakras or auras or whatever, just stopping for a second to ask “am I okay?”— that’s already spiritual in some way.

Some research (not sure which one, but I swear I read it) says mindfulness reduces anxiety by 30%. even big tech CEOs are meditating now. Elon probably meditates in space or something. So maybe it’s not just for monks anymore.

Maybe it’s less about religion, more about rhythm

If you strip away the fancy stuff, spirituality’s basically rhythm. it’s how your thoughts, breath, and actions sync up. like, when you take a walk and suddenly feel at peace — that’s rhythm. or when you help someone without expecting anything — that’s energy. you don’t have to name it. you just feel it.
